bunch of b*$***** ;)

We're very proud of our local T...o. They've agreed to donate all damaged bags of sugar to our local association for the bees instead of putting it into the compacter.Started six weeks ago and 7kg so far....all very gratefully received, and an ongoing arrangement.
Why don't you pop into your local T and ask to speak nicely with the Groceries Manager. You
might be lucky like us.

fed more syrup and gave a dose of homeopathic varroa treatment
...

what is this treatment?

Presumably an infetisimally small piece of a mite.

Even if you accept the theory of homeopathy against a microbe, I'm not sure how it would work against a (to a bee) big bity thing. It would be like a postman using a homeopathic remedy against dogs (hair of the dog, anyone?)

Grafted more cells. The ones from 72 hours ago had a 65 take from 70. The heather is flowering and rain is forecast for the next few days after that we can expect good to excellent flow conditions from the heather, ivy and carob.

Just stood and watched. Bees very busy especially my smallest colony, it's piling in there like high summer.

Prepared jars ready for a Honey fayre.

Extracted 6 boxes today.

one box foundation less. Only blew one frame that I thought would go anyway, so not to bad.

I need a beer :cheers2:

Went to a friends bee shed I decided it would be good to place super under bb and no need for smoke, removed the super and bb to do the simple switch and then realised wild comb on the bottom of brood frames and would stop it sitting on the super so replaced with super over bb.

Then noticed 1’ eke in the corner of shed me thinks put this on top of super perfect, so we went back in and removed super and bb, placed super on the floor and 1’ eke then bb.

The only problem as we never lit the smoker the bees not very happy with us on this 2nd visit not happy at all.

Not 'in the apiary' yet, but I will be. Just got back from what should have been nothing more or less than a pleasant walk with the dog but today has turned out to be a little different.

At some point between 8pm yesterday and this morning someone has taken it on themselves to fly tip a load of rubbish on a piece of waste ground. Normally that would really get my back up but this time I find myself caught between righteous indignation and celebration. The cause of this? What looks like half a van full of 100mm foilbacked insulation off cuts -all good sizes too. May need to strap the roofs down with such thick sheets but that's no real hardship.

One man's waste...

Just what I could do with
Last week somebody dumped ten bags of asbestos roofing in the corner of our field.
I reported it and it was gone in 12 hours!
