I never thought for a moment that it was meant to be offensive but I suspect that your trying to be now.

It takes one to know one Chris, are you vying for honours with Rab?:D

Yesterday stung by a wasp, see above!
Today stung by a bee !
2.5" diameter hot red patch at the site of the wasp sting .
Can hardly discern where todays bee stung me ?
Obviously I react to wasp stings but not to bee stings !
Yesterday was the first wasp sting I have ever had :)

A beekeeper local to me has to go for desensitization treatment to wasp stings and claims 90% of people that also attend are beekeepers.

Be very very careful John friend of mine had a few wasp stings 15min later he was found unconscious and was told it could have been fatal. Is now completing de-sensitisation treatment.

Let's not get ahead of the game :).
The reaction to the wasp sting is local and not systemic :), no swelling even, just a hot red patch which is a little itchy !

Whilst working in a loft today I got tagged by a wasp, so burning a bit I looked around this huge loft to find 7 diff wasp nests in various sizes.
done a quick risk assesment and got out rather sharpish lol.
as luck would have it pain gone and no itching left after 3 hours.
Plan to use my extractor tommorrow for the first time, manual 9 frame.

:D

Nada, my truck broke down and spent all day figuring out the problem, poor weather past days, have not been able to get anything done.

I am sensitive to stings on my wrist but seemingly no where else. Getting popped in face gets only itching reaction, same in fingers, legs, arms, etc. A sting at wrist give me a swollen arm.

I love your veil, where did you get it?

extracted the last of the honey this morning. Started off a gallon of mead.:cheers2:

I extracted first super part filled and with some help from tonybloke setup and used my extractor for the first time.
I also used my refractometer for first time and honey came out at 21% water
but I dont think the 10LB of honey will last long enough to ferment lol.

Just been down to replace bee escapes on some hives to clear bees from replaced for cleansing supers . Just finished when the mother and father of a squall arrived ! Glad I was there really as I strapped each colony (4 supers high but little weight :) )
Now it's sunny and bright but still blowing a hooly :(

"used by Kate Bumble before all her little girls went awol!"

perhaps it was the naked spacehoppering too close to the hive that scared them away!

sorry drifting off again.

i'll get my coat.

"2.5" diameter hot red patch at the site of the wasp sting"

absolutely normal reaction to a wasp sting.
Aye, nowt to bother about , thought being immune to bee stings rendered me immune to wasps stings :).

I took off the last of the Heather Honey today (should have a nice lot of cut comb this year) started late mite treatment on the last two hives, orange and yellow pollen going in the hives, lots of wasps around Chris

Well I fed newish swarm and checked frames quickly no eggs no larva no capped brood didnt see queen but they are drawing out the foundation and have stored some pollen nectar and syrup.
not many bees and they are very small.
So think I will let them draw wax and stores for future use on other colony.
It is all new foundation and with the swarm being so late don`t fancy keeping that type of swarm.

Ok I dont get these high % figures, when did you take super off the bees? uncapped supers left with bees for long enough will be close to 17/18% - extract uncapped supers asap once off the hive, better yet test honey before taking off the hive.

Had the super been off for a while? honey is hygroscopic and if left around the house it will take moisture onboard.
