I'm checking out abelo sublimox vaporiser and 12v vaporiser.
I here good things on the sublimox but you need a generator for out apiarys, while I imagine the 12v vaporiser might be a bit easier with a battery..
Any feedback from you guys who have purchased appreciated

I use a Varrox from a car battery - and it also operates from a wheelbarrow!

The gas-vap might be worth a consideration for out apiaries however the sublimox is great when there is a convenient power source.

The pan types are too slow for anyone with more than a few hives.

I purchased my Sublimox from Romania, got it with extra caps and seals for less than the price of one here.

Yes those caps are atrociously expensive!

Yes I’ve looked at the GasVap
Often
I wonder if there’s a market for a second hand sublimox?
Then there’s oxalic acid strips from Abelo. Dead easy.

my DIY vapouriser cost £15 including second hand car battery - now 8 years old and still OK (Recharged every three months)...

I organise it so as it is vaping I prepare the next hive. After 3 mins heating all OA vaping is finished so I cool it (cold water bucket), move it to next hive, close up last and prepare next..

All carried in a wheel barrow.

Last year I did 7 hives plus 6 nucs in under 70 minutes.. For a hobby beekeeper fine.. (Commercial? far too long)

Mixture in measured spoonful so no delay in weighing...
Occasional clean due to Api-Bioxal furring up heating tray with junk...

Sublimox with Impax IM800I generator, which is needed in distant out-apiaries to deal with 80-plus colonies.

Just need a good quality mask.

Still see people recommending standing downwind of OA vapour, but that's mad. The grade of filter recommended by Sublimox is A2P3, where A refers to organic gases and vapours and P to particles.

A2 is a medium grade organic gas & vapour filter, and P3 a high efficiency particle filter. Page 45 of this HSE doc defines the classes of filtration; eyes must be sealed from OA vapour.

Well of course it's mad to stand down wind. Use your noggin and stand upwind unless you enjoy having the sublimate swirling around you and possibly settling on your clothes.

Did all my hives with gasvap. Easy, quick, and cheap, once the vaporiser is purchased..about £40 https://bridge-cottage.com/store see video
Just need a good quality mask. No need to block up each hive .
I too would recommend the gas vap, really quick and easy to use, no heavy battery to cart around and seems to be very effective.
I've had practically no varroa drop this season after each hive had 3 treatments at intervals in December.

Yes I have gas vap , I must be just unlucky with my torches keep breaking .

They seem to be selling and recommending a much more expensive torch now which seems more reliable, my torch worked intermittently so half gave up on it.
