Working in Penarth yesterday, cloudy and the air was chilled. Moved up to Maesteg and the sun was out. In Maesteg again today, beautiful weather.

Warmed up very nicely around lunchtime here.
This afternoon, to collect some stuff, I drove about a mile (and 200 feet down) and found myself in thick, grey, numbingly cold sea fog.

Its a bit odd for the first half of March ...

sweltering here today - cloudless, no breeze and 30 degrees at one point - little bit cooler tomorrow (25) and we may get a bit of thunder Sunday so I've brought my washing day forward a few days and re'rigged my clothes line on the verandah

Rain is forcast here next week according to Acu weather, and not going much above 10c until the end of April and beyond...

Been one nice day here so far... that was last Sunday when it was nice and sunny with temperatures up to 15c, since then it has been foggy every day with temperatures struggling to get much above 6c...the complete opposite of the warmer temperatures that were forecast for this area.:icon_204-2:

If anyone is telling you what the temperatures will be at the end of April they are talking through their hat. No model has any skill beyond climatology 6 weeks out, it's simply beyond current capabilities.

We hit 16C in Exeter this afternoon - spot on the forecast.

Acu Weather.

I find the most accurate thing the local weather guessers get reasonably accurate, is when they are on the news telling us what the weather we have already had the day before has been like.

Yes but the seaweed they have in Exeter is different to that in Teignmouth..

Met Office are in a totally different league to Acu Weather. In my opinion AC are primarily a media company - packaging forecasts in a popular way. Giving folk what they want (the 45 day forecast!) even though it's complete junk. How many forecasters do they even have in the UK? Do they have any super computer facility in the UK?

Taking Exeter, the current forecast from Acu Weather is a high of 17C on Sunday, Met Office forecasts 13C. Big spread! There's a good weather station at Exeter Airport so we can check on Sunday which service was closer to the truth.

I don't doubt that, there are lots of them, but for here none of them get the weather forecast right... well, maybe correct about 10% of the time, wish we had your Exeter weather station.

Taking the 17c to 13c big spread, you mention on the Sunday forecasts for the two forecasters, bigger spreads than that are quite common here in the same day, within just a mile or so.

Scrap what I said, looking noticeably cooler next week :( going tone a shock to the system after the recent mild spell!

Bees round here have hair on their chests...

The Met is giving 9c tomorrow and accuweather is giving 12c, the weather channel 10c so I'll be keeping a close eye

B****R!
Rain this week here and daytime Ts around 5˚/6˚ next week, just as the ***** willow and blackthorn is out :(

Promising snow on the hills . Er! A light dusting on the ground in my very lowland part of Lancashire early this morning :)
