When uncapping honey with a knife, do you cut back to the frame, using the frame as a guide? Obviously the frames can be drawn out beyond the wood depending on number of frames in super. And by cutting back to frame you will lose some drawn foundation.
What do others do?

I uncap back to the frame and sell the wax that comes off.

I uncap with a heat gun so it is only the cappings that go. The longer the cells for the next year the more honey per frame.

I scratch the cappings off with a fork while holding the frame over the extractor. The cappings and any loose honey fall into the reservoir for filtering later.
