New Bee
Hi everyone I've been a Beekeeper for a number of year and have been looking for something to store my hot smoker in. The Beekeeping companies charge £50 or more for their fireproof metal boxes but like most of Beekeepers I know I very slow to part with my money.
Today In TX max I saw a dog food metal box for £12 reduced from £14, I think that will do perfectly for me.
Another tip from me, I haven't got much feeling in my finger tips so I use a ' crown of thornes' or one of those plastic plungers with a sponge at the end to mark my queen's . I keep all my other odds and sods in a kitchen cleaning caddy to take around my hives. They can get a bit banged about and often not used for months and other times used on every visit. I store them in an old empty margarine tub that's perfect for the job . Has anyone else got some useful equipment tips?
