Make your own table saw from a forty quid circular saw and an old table top or workbench

Sent from my HTC One mini 2 using Tapatalk

Mine consists of a £10 second hand saw from ebay (used once ) and a home made table from pallet wood.

£40 is extravagant :nono:

My best way of saving money is to build my own boxes. I use plywood but for starters, Ikea have a 'recycle' area where you can collect great pieces of material for roofs etc.

As for stands, pallets work a treat.

I have just costed building my next Lang from scratch # vs buyng from Mann Lake. Mann Lake are cheaper...and better made.:sunning:. I'll buy a complete hive and modify it to suit me...cheaper and quicker.

# I have already 3 home built.

I found similar with some pieces of kit - but busy making up a ton of crown boards now, seeing as they're easy enough. I reckon they cost £1.50ish to make vs £6 even in the sales.

Agreed but if you only require 2-3 of any one piece of kit and making it yourself requires buying enough for 6 (eg ply sheets) then it sometimes makes sense to buy rather than make..

When you can buy a Lag super or brood box for under £10 and self assemble, there is no argument: buy.

Always have twice as much spares stock as you think you will need :) If push comes to shove you won't be desperately casting around for equipment and paying high prices and shipping.
