I've always assumed that if its ok to decorate a childs bedroom it should also be fine on the outside of a beehive - I use left over paint as the price is right !

When I wur bur a lad, creosote was used in cough medicine :biggrinjester:.

It's still available to contractors and used to be recommended by maff for all sorts of uses including preserving bee hives (mixed with old sump oil)

its a shame the number of things being withdrawn just because it isnt cost effective to comply with new EU testing regimes.

i bought up loads of derris dust that local store still had just after it was withdrawn.
