Right, I’ve been lurking for a while, time to say hello.

I’m well into my 2nd year, based in Leicestershire, a member of two local beekeeping associations, for the training from one and benefits from the other.

Completed a couple of practical courses, had some honey last year, successfully made a split.

Discovered I had a faulty new queen excluder… that was fun.!

I’ve got 2 colonies in an out apiary, and I’m working on having a hive or 2 in my back garden this year.

Current hives are cedar, but I’ve treated myself to a couple of Abelo 12 frame poly hives for the back garden just to see what they are like.

Being in the middle of the country I’ve made it both the National Honey Show for the talks and shopping and the BBKA Conference for the talks and shopping….

Will make my first mooch over to Telford for a look in 54 days time.

Happy New Year everybody. 🌻🐝
