I am just wondering what the average score for a computer solving Wordle would be? I guess a program has been written?

Disappointed First fail since 5th May I think. Not because I didn't have a clue what the word was, but because there were just so many options. Attempt 5 was to eliminate a few, but I was still left with too many and tried the wrong one on my last go.

often use this first letter and big help it was correct here, 38 options...
chose this to sort between the set with single changes and the hits help (for once) just 2 options now...
looks like it was lucky to get middle letter due to the 9 options there if you had all the others

Interesting thought I had before too (and what I have been trying to intuit towards the strategy without doing any crunching) so.... google rides in

An interesting watch, there are others who get 3.421 average guesses - there's a whole little world of explorers... and it depends what rules and aims you have. I like the hard game!

...Matt explains the reasoning behind the Wordle solver he built using MATLAB that has a 99.6% success rate with an average of 3.5 guesses.
