Sorry to bore with my techie approach stuff but I think I have a way that ensures never taking more than 6 in hard mode, picking a best start (new method) and dealing with all the worst possible outcomes along the way. Unless I missed a worse option somewhere!
AFAIK this is something most people who play around with the meta game theory and code etc have not done.

Sometimes I wish I understood such stuff. But it‘s not very often. In fact hardly ever at all.
