We are an odd family aren't we? Many of us could pass in the street without nodding and saying 'Hi', we could pass in a bee supply shop and just smile and nod, we can read emails on here and smile and agree or growl and disagree...

BUT

I WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS...May your next year be productive and enjoyable and your bees happy and healthy...

All love at Chistmas...Q59

Many thanks to all the contributors who make this forum such a useful resource for beginners like myself. One day I hope to have the knowledge and experience to post useful replies myself and help others. 'tis the day before Christmas and all through the hive
Not an Apis is stirring, but I'm sure they're alive
The mouseguards are hung o'er the entrance with care
To make sure no rodent enters in there...

Merry Christmas to all,
Adam

Verse two
If I listen very carefully I can here a slight hum
They are having a party with honey and rum
They're enjoying the holidays like we all do
But as soon as the sun shines they'll be out for a poo

Well.....you've started something now!

Verse 3

Since the sun is still shining the bees are all warm,
Despite the strange weather and the odd storm,
Huddled and waiting at the centre of the hive,
We beekeepers are hoping that our bees will survive.

The Bee Carol

Silently on Christmas Eve,
the turn of midnight's key;
all the garden locked in ice -
a silver frieze -
except the winter cluster of the bees.

Flightless now and shivering,
around their Queen they cling;
every bee a gift of heat;
she will not freeze
within the winter cluster of the bees.

Bring me for my Christmas gift
a single golden jar;
let me taste the sweetness there,
but honey leave
to feed the winter cluster of the bees.

Come with me on Christmas Eve
to see the silent hive -
trembling stars cloistered above -
and then believe,
bless the winter cluster of the bees.
