Just painted the edges with ronseal yacht varnish.
Does anyone have any advice on how many coats or is one enough?
Thanks

Two coats is needed for wood.So I assume the same for poly.

Not used it on poly tho..

Do you mean mix it? Thanks

Plastic primer first (spray can) then use clear coat, also known as plastic coat. WARNING I don't know the reaction it will have on poly hives but some of the modern spray cans are water based acrylic paints and should have no effect on poly hives. Try a bit of polystyrene packing first as a test piece.

Thanks... I guess I would have to sand it first. Maybe I will just apply the second coat and hope that the worst that can happen is it peels. I imagine the paint beneath will not be flexible so what probably happens is the paint cracks and falls off taking the varnish layer with it. Thanks for all the advice!
