Here is a tip on how to clean wax from queen rearing equipment, things like the Nicot or JZB cups used for grafting.
At the end of the queen rearing season we like to clean and sterilse all the equipment.
Take a large pickle jar and half fill with warm vegetable oil, rape/ canola will be fine. Drop the queen cups in and give a vigourous shake. Leave the jar somewhere warm or on a radiator. Give it a good shake now and then. After a few days all of the wax will fall off the cups. you can then drain, wash in detergent and sterilse.
They come out good as new !

Thanks Sipa - that is really useful

Can you then use the oil to deepfry the Haggis and Marsbars.... Burns night and all that?

I resemble that remark. Everyone knows Mars bars are fried in lard.....

Sipa - thanks for the tip. Mine duly soaking.

I'll have to give that a go, I tried using hot water but results were less than satisfactory.

Yep, stick some olive oil in your ears and it melts you earwax a treat!!!!!

Am sure that’s part of a black adder line
