I didnt get very much honey this year, but what I have tastes absolutely fantastic. Best honey I have ever produced.

my tiny bit was so pale, never seen it so clear, mine is normally a medium colour.
six footer will you be attending Liverpool Beekeepers @ rice Lane?

I must be bucking the trend , I've had twice my usual amount :)
Excellent clarity and taste , quite viscous 17% moisture.
Slow moving at £4 per pound though :(

Too cheap VM! I've been selling 8oz for £3.50 (£3 to friends) no problems. Very light and smooth this year, and even got a 2nd place in light honey open class in our local show last week

Congrats ! Go for first next year !
Too cheap? :) brass is hard earned in this area . The 50 pence piece was designed for use here as it requires a spanner, nay! a wrench to relieve a local of any money :D

Hi Sorry to hear fo;ks didnt get much generally
I only have one hive but last year I got only 6 jars of amber coloured honey.

This year i got 25 jars which is not too bad.
It was interesting to see there were 2 different colours even in a single frame.
Most is Amber but in a few frames the middle cells was darker. I think is is probally chestnut as theres a big conker tree 2 doors up. (i live in birmingham) which tastes rater more toffee like. All ok on water content 18%

Ah well. We are neighbours. Lots of balsam and rosebay round these parts when the bees were foraging.

My season finished earlier than yours- but still got pretty well my entire crop in the last fortnight before I took it off!

i didn't get anywhere near as much as I was hoping for but not too bad considering the weather this summer.

It's quite different from last years crop though and is crystalising very quickly. I've never had this happen before so a first for me:hairpull:

the balsm is only just finnishing here but a lot of my hives are in orchards and they were so pretty when they came out in blossom i thought id get a bumper one this year a couple of days later boom down came the rain knocked it all of so instead of trying to retreive any from those decided to leave it on for the bees for winter and rely on a bit coming from the balsm/clover ones
