Hi all and Ely,
Seems I have sorted tech problems with uploading a foto with Redwood's help. Now my question is does the snow remaining on the roof of my hive mean that it is a well insulated hive, the bees' metabolic rate in cluster is working to its optimum, they are slowly petering out or it's to damn cold for them to thaw the snow. My PH has still got icicles hanging from it. I have also noticed that the side where the cluster sits is warmer than the other sides.View attachment 7840

-5C again overnight. Only about 10cms of lying snow apart from the drifts...

-9C forecast later this week.

Hives all have a nice snow covering.
 
Forecast to be 27C here tomorrow - unusually warm for the time of the year. I fully expect that we will pay for it in March, just when a decent flow should be on.
