I have a couple of hives that have been queenless over a few weeks,one now has a couple of frames of brood but the other still does not, anyway ive noticed that the larger colony has been filling most of the brood box and a super with honey but it is granulated, white even the uncapped area.
I tasted it and it tastes just like sugar,ive not been feeding the bees so i would like to know is there a plant that they could have got it from?
Also with the brood box stuffed with stores will the new queen be stuck for laying room? if so should i put in a few frames of foundation?
