Was in Tescos (Boston) yesterday, T&L sugar still £3.99/5Kgs

Need to make-up some pollen substitute in a hurry - any ideas where I can source Soy Flour and Brewers Yeast (in Kg amounts) - nowt in Tesco - Holland&Barret look a bit pricey.

pete! Question is so serious that you must call at once to the police.
You get no help from this forum.

If you feel personally that sugar is dangerous stop eating it but don't try to compare things to your fobias.

Honey has bee disease spores. It includes too 150 diffrent bacterium, yeast and what ever buggs.even spiders' legs and banana flye wings.

And Pete. Look under your nail what it has: anticoagulants, chips, excrecete of nose, ear wax....

Finman: playing with fire and mishandling of hive tools could also be considered dangerous.
'dangerous' was not a word I used in the thread. This is your word. I said nothing about harm to human health.

In the small number of years, I have seen multiple threads with worrys about the bees getting dysentry by having the wrong kind of sugar\something in the sugar.

As I was considering switching brands, is it really such a silly question confirming there is nothing in the sugar that would upset the bees.

Sorry finman, I do not believe my question was silly... only your answer.

I have to ask why as there is abundant pollen about?

PH

I'm about to take on a 3 week old swarm as a challenge, and want to get it up to reasonable size before winter.

I'm based in the centre of a thousand acres of sugar beet and cereals - so there ain't exactly an over-abundance of pollen in this neck of the woods. And anyway, it's raining - yet again - so nothing's flying today - again. Rain is also forecast for Mon, Tues, Wed ...

I just want to hedge my bets on this one - so for the rest of this year, it's the Bee-Ritz Hotel treatment. Next year they can fend for themselves.

Alldigging - thanks for the links - appreciated.
