Hi all, I've finally got my hive and have knocked together the frames with wax foundation in them. I'm currently waiting on catching a swam so storing the frames in my shed. Now are these at risk of wax moth and what is the best way to store them?

Why store them?
If you're trying to catch a swarm, you'd have more luck if there was something to attract the scouts to your hive.
People will tell you different things about what to use as an attractant. Some work. Some don't (at least not for me).

Foundation in itself is not likely to get wax moth but the best thing to do is make the frames up except for the wiggly bit on the top bar and the bottom bar on the same side as the wiggly bit. Keep the wax wrapped and flat in a cool place until needed then just put it in the frame and attach the wiggly bit and bottom bar. That way the wax stays fresh for longer and is less likely to get damaged.
As you have made them fully then keep them in a spare hive so you don't damage them in a cool room away from mice and bees.

Thanks guys, I've got them in a shed as they are going on the allotment and I there is a possibility they will get stolen if left in view without bees in them. Swarm wise I'm using boxes I made from dimensions off the net and lemongrass oil.

Good luck with the swarms but you may have to fall back on swapping money for a colony :)

The wiggly bit....I'm intrigued. What is it? Sat and though for a few minutes..nope didn't help much. I have a straight wedge type thingy bit of wood that I nail onto the top bars but nowt wiggly :)
It could be a big selling point.

I want wiggly bits and I want them NOW!

What a grump, take a chill pill.. lol

Just be careful if your shed is a small garden shed which heats up a lot in the sun. The wax could go soft.
