Damn! A lot more than I ever thought I'd have
Following the discovery of my dead hive due to a DLQ I have a BB with frames half full of honey and I wish to store it until spring.

I was thinking of putting the BB on a plastic tray with another on top and then strapping it all together to keep the honey and frames safe from damn mice.

I then got to thinking, how do you store yours? So lets here your methods

In the shed with crown board top and bottom.
Not honey but thymol syrup though.....honey goes in jars ;)

Sorry about the bees :(

I store my supers wet individually wrapped in clear industrial pallet wrap.

Had to buy a bigger freezer when I started beekeeping, lol

mine would have to be a walk in the size of a garage the amount of supers I have.

Saw this and thought yup can do that but then I thought... how does that stuff protect from mice? You want to see what they've done to my poly nuc the little S****.

I sent five to the great hedgerows in the sky this winter. Traps are permanently set now...

mice in my shed have damaged wax in at least 20 supers.put traps down but cant catch the little buggers.

Chest freezer 20 supers at a time. Then store in industrial poly bags. In bee room that is mice free. Suggest mouse traps....yep, they like choc.

Mice ate through a poly nuc I had wet frames in one winter so all the wax goes into wooden supers stacked up

Bait them with chocolate and set them "tickle"

Peanuts always work for me. Caught over 30 mice in the garage last Winter. Metal traps seem to be best. None have come in so far this Winter.

Frames are stored in a shed (no mice) in BB/supers in stacks of 6 with crown board top and bottom.

I've heard of a honey trap, but .... catching nuts?

Its nearer to civilisation than I am tho.
No mice here. Not much in the way of birds, but used to have a hedgehog under the shed.
