I have taken the basic exam and want to start modules next year what do people here think are good books to read for help along with the modules .....

If money for books is limited then start with module 3 as NBU site (beebase) will provide most of the information required.

For core text I recommend this book by Yates, there is another book for modules 6-8. He can be a bit opinionated - but if you can survive on this forum for more than a few months you will know thats beekeeping!!

They got me successfully through all 8 modules.

You will need some other books, specialising in particular areas of beekeeping, depending on the module you are taking.

For advice you could also look at the BBKA reading list.
 
.....Guide to Bees & Honey, by Ted Hooper is a must for all Beekeepers (in my humble opinion!!)
