Sounds like you will need a fresh cement mixer for your pattie mix too. Just like MikeTheBee.

The link that Hivemaker gave will eventually get you to the above page where the product is Organic soya flour - full fat. Just to save you time. Product code FLR085.

Happy mixing :grouphug:

Perhaps a pattie mixing movie in glorious full fat colour is called for.

Was there a guy in Ireland last winter who was importing Pollen Patties from the States and selling them on Flebay, anyone remember?

At 18% fat would they have an impact on acarine?

I couldn't agree with you more Hivemaker and personally use the recipe that appears in post #4 of the thread that Admin points at, in this thread, for Pollen Patties as reported by BCrazy.

I think HP could be looking to produce a race of size zero slim bees! :)

It will be more than a few years before I need to consider a 25kg bag but nice to know where the various suppliers are that volume users such as yourself use. I'm at the Holland & Barratt stage at the moment. :)

Do you have any recommendations for a preferred dried brewers yeast supplier? I notice that on the Queensway site the sack size isn't mentioned but imagine it to be large.

Bought mine from...guess...yes..bako..box's of 20x500g packs ,instant dried, mauripan, product of portugal.cost £20 for 10 kg first time i used it last spring, don't know if they liked it,they made no comment, but they ate it.

I assume this is it,bakers, not brewers.

Soya flour have high tendency to make make oatty hard for bees. It is good protein but practical leven in patty is 10%.
Patty must be moist that bees can bite it. Last spring I used dried yeast with high proportion and it went good.

Proteins:
20% irradiated pollen
20% soya
60% dried yeast.

one multivitamin pill to 3 kg patty and
50 mg c-vitamin included.

The final patty must have 50% sugar that it does not ferment.

skimmed milk is not good for bees and it is very expencive.

If pollen rate is under 20%. some hives do not want to eate the patty.
