Anybody else's bees out in the rain? Went out this morning for a quick look around the site and it was pouring down with 8mm already in the guage. Small bumble bees were foraging on catmint - nothing unusual about that but when I went and walked past the hives my 2 strongest were both flying in moderate numbers through the rain. We are near a fairly big commercial glasshouse area and i wonder if they have found some 'indoor work?'

At 2.30pm mine were flying in light rain (as opposed to very heavy rain earlier) at about 10C.

Mine were out all day in the rain yesterday. At least the two colonies in my garden were. I have five other hives on a farm about three miles away, and they were all tucked up inthe dry. the two sets are of different lineage, so either the urban bees have found something seriously worth getting damp for, or they may just be more predisposed to industry!
