Best Emergency Cells
When adding a frame of BIAS & eggs to a Queen-less colony,
For a novice the emergency Queen cells may appear to be placed randomly on the frame.
Choosing one cell to remain when reducing them, can be a bit of a lottery. Presumably you want a cell that was fed royal jelly from the start and appears to be about 12hrs old when chosen (as when grafting) ??
But will the bees choose older larvae first to raise as queens for the sake of expediency. ???
In which case any QCs capped before day 8 were created from older larvae, and those should be torn down as well as any younger subsequent QCs, leaving the chosen cell being capped on day 8/9.
Is this correct ?
