A local farmer, who farms (don't think he owns) the field nearest to me and my bees, is converting it from arable (recent crops of barley, potatoes, daffodils) to pasture for sheep. At some time in the not-too-distant-future he will seed it. If some bee-forage-plant seed were added to the mix that benefit my bees and the provide good forage for the sheep, it would be a win-win situation.

White Clover comes to mind but are there other pasture plants that would do the same job? I'd like to know an answer before I ask the question of the farmer.

There probably needs to be a benefit to the farmer for him to consider it, even if I make a financial contribution.

Buckwheat?
It fixes nitrogen as well as being a forage crop.
BUT.....don't sheep graze everything down before it flowers?

Doubt there's anything else apart from re,white clovers, most other plants won't flower and cost too much

If he can let it revert back to wild meadow and then cut hay late July and graze in autumn would work
