Just a quickie to ask if those poly hive users out there bother painting their super boxes at all as they're not in use all season?

Someone has just gifted me a few and I haven't the faintest idea what I'm doing........won't be the first time! :hat:

If the poly is white without painting, bee become somehow blind and cannot find the entrance at once. Another thing is that paint protect the surface against UV corrosion. It does not take much if you paint them.

Fill them with bees and brood and sell off if you do not invent nothing else.

Ok Finman, thanks for that.

Which type of paint do you usually use?

If you need to repair the box, use polyurethane clue.
It hardens with moisture and makes a little foam.
