Just add a thicker strip on the top side of the crowboard that will make the rim deep enough to take the rhombus clearer, then turn it over when you want to use it as a clearer board. But ... they work best with about 50mm below the clearer so you might also consider making some 50mm deep ekes to sit under the crown board when you want to use it for clearing.Annoyingly want it ditch the porters and move to rhombus on every hive but annoyingly the rhombus is thicker than the bee space on the Paynes crown boards we use so the crown board wobbles around all over. you need more depth than a beespace. an apiguard eke is ideal, and I've found if you buy them 2nd quality, almost cheaper than just making a rim out of plain timber.Annoyingly want it ditch the porters and move to rhombus on every hive but annoyingly the rhombus is thicker than the bee space on the Paynes crown boards we use so the crown board wobbles around all over.
