I knew a farmers wife who said to me:

"I ken ma place, it's the bees first, then the fairm, then the dugs then me."

The bees were being rouped out, and a month later he was buying bees in again....LOL A real beeman. ;)
 
bit desperate that Admin, a big saucepan and syrup making might have been a better plan.

Agreed it would of,In a state of blind panic I grabbed a couple of 5kg sugar bags I had in the back of the truck and started pouring,needs must and all that.

Big lesson learned that bees just transfered from Nucs can starve in a wet August with no supers on a national.
 
Jim, are you saying you don't have one of them as well,i thought you was young, forward thinking and dynamic.
 
The lesson here is that bees can starve full stop and of course the big ones starve fastest.

Baring disease, (note please hivemaker) I have had and dealt with I think every other disaster apart from flooding.
