Enough to last several years, now that we can't use it for treating varroa. ~$0.07 / g, 1 g will treat 1.5 US gallons of syrup.

I believe that thymol is regarded as an organic treatment and small quantities are found naturally in honey. Bleach? I'm not feeding that to my bees.

Nosema is not, has never been, an issue thanks to mild winter
Lucky you. Not the case for everyone though, is it?

ACV (a major attractant of SHB).
Why do you want to attract SHB?

Yes, but very pricey compared to bleach or ACV (a major attractant of SHB).

Is it? I got a 100g container of thymol crystals for £6. I used 30g in my solution: £1.80 worth. That solution came to 150ml total. I use 2ml every time I fill the rapid feeder with syrup, which is approximately 2 liters. So everytime I feed the bees a human body-weight in sugar (not syrup, sugar!) I spend less than £2.

That is not expensive. Make up the solution once and use it for the rest of the year.

Whilst wanting to be internationalist, on a uk forum i feel it would be helpful if posters indicated early in their post from which country they are posting from ( apart from Finman, whom we all know) . Hope this doesn’t sound like little Englander, but I have to keep check to see where the poster is from.

I have to keep check to see where the poster is from.

You just need to look at the side-bar with most people; as in...you're from East Yorkshire, I'm from Scotland and so on. No-one starts their post with, "I'm from.......". ;)

Oops...yes. ;) However, in my settings it does say "country flag, Scotland"; I will investigate.

....sorted, but I don't know where my flag has got to...maybe I have to pay for that? ;)
