Anyone who thinks a militia armed with hand guns is going to defeat a Government armed with tanks and planes obviously does not follow recent history - see Syria.

What is USA?
And in most recent history what is Bundy standoff.
Militia is made out of same people as government army.
Planes and tanks won't stand on street corner and kick doors down.
People will. If those people are opposed to doing it government has no power.
If you have support of population you will overthrow US backed government starting with small group of people like Fidel Castro did.
If you oppress local population you get smothered by government with approval of local population.
