Going back to the OP….let’s hope when roger pops in for a look he finds quotes for his cover or perhaps a contributor for the foreword of the second edition😂

Amari ... I've already said ... the post was not removed - it was MOVED to the cupboard under the stairs where all things political end up ... the only reason you could not (and still cannot) view it is because you need to request access to that section of the forum - which is always granted. Ask and you shall receive and the veil will be lifted from thine eyes ....

I'm not sure who's the more exasperated: you or me!

What a lot of Mumbo-jumbo, needing to ask permission to join! 'Lift the veil' - and maybe roll up the trouser leg....?

I was once invited to become a Mason - No way! - unlike my grandfather (a Unitarian minister of all things) and my father.

I've finally succumbed and asked for the key to that Wonderland in order to find out what happens to all the interesting "tennis matches" of hot-tempered conversation which sometimes disappear from my view; I assume they end up in that section?
It's a strange concept that adults need protecting from being offended on a beekeeping forum and that some subjects need to be kept out of general sight.
What happens if some grump gets cross at seeing an opinion or subject which "upsets" them even under the "three-star" system? Is there a basement under the cupboard under the stairs?

Youngsters also view the forum, it is for their protection as well.

Fair point, but protection from what?, foul or abusive language?, homophobia?, racism?, animal cruelty?, ****ography; or just people with misaligned views on the best colour for a bee or whether invert is better than syrup or whether or not American or Australian citizens should be allowed to keep bees? ;) Although given what so many youngsters regularly view online these days and how well moderated this forum is, I doubt there's much here to faze them. In any case, presumably they can ask to have their *** as well?

I seem to remember a year or two back, and even more recently, Dani reminding us this is a family friendly forum so to make sure everything we post could be viewed by all. If a cupboard under the stairs is now deemed necessary then standards have slipped, or the forum's parameters have been changed.

Politics and heated exchanges may be too sensitive for delicate eyes.

When threads descend into mischief and mayhem.

....Like this one then?......"delicate eyes"?!

During the early 2010s, this forum was full of people who were passionately anti neonicotinoid pesticides. They were one track posters and anyone who said anything they did not like was pilloried by them.
Not pleasant and they almost all had no self restraint , were easily provoked and were banned

Since then it's been relatively civilised and then civilised.
