Remember drinking (and filming) in the Nag's head many years ago, probably about 1984 when it was a proper pub with beer served from a jug by old Gwyn . And being proudly shown the giant rat (feral coypu) that his father had killed in his garden by the river and was now stuffed and in a glass case on the windowsill.
There were plenty of Coypus in the UK (well, East Anglia anyway) they escaped from fur farms in the 1920's and reached plague levels, most were eradicated by the 1970's with the eradication programme being shut down when the last one was killed in a trap in 1982All true JBM. It was later identified as a 'myocastor coypus' which is a resident of S. America and probably arrived on one of the last ships visiting Port Cardigan
