Bee Health And Disease Day - National Bee Unit

The Leicestershire and Rutland Beekeeping Association are hosting Bee Health And Disease Day event on behalf of the National Bee Unit for just £5 per person. This event is open to any bee keeper, regardless of membership of any beekeeping association or none.

It's on Saturday 9 July 2016, from 09.30 am – 4.30pm

The day includes a disease recognition workshop where you will have the chance to examine different brood diseases, a practical class in the apiary (bring your bee suit!), an update on managing varroa, a presentation on exotic pests and an opportunity for questions and answers with NBU staff. It is a great opportunity to learn from the experts how to be a more vigilant bee keeper.

The cost is £5 per person, or bring a group of 4 for just £16. It is free of charge to under 18’s. The price is inclusive of tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits. Please bring a packed lunch.

Meet at Walton Village Hall, Kimcote Road, Leicestershire, LE17 5RR. This is close to Rugby, Coventry, Nuneaton and Northampton, being just 4 ½ miles from J20 of the M1 and 6 ½ miles from J1 of the A14.

Booking: Please download and print the form attached or contact [email protected] for more information.

The 2 Welsh disease ID workshops (with diseased comb) I've been to I found really worthwhile, and I hope all beekeepers who've not been to one, will go to this sort of workshop.
