Clarification Wanted

I alerted people to this story last week it was in the Daily Telegraph.
The responses are a little confusing.
Are my fellow beeks saying these are not Hornets?
Not Asian Hornets?
Japanese Hornets are not a sub-species of Asian Hornet?
Can someone please elucidate. Are these Asian Hornets? Have they arrived in the UK this year? Are we going to have to fight a battle to stop them destroying our hives?
Please help!!!:hairpull:

The scare stories in the British media are usually about the giant assian hornet. Not the asian hornet that has yet not arrived on these shores.
The asian hornet is in France, the giant one is not.
Try reading something othet than the mail for bee pest related info.
