Want to make some ekes because I’m bored!
What is the best thickness of plywood 6mm, 9mm or thicker?

I use 12-15mm thick wood and not ply.
Even WBP ply may delaminate as the edges are exposed to moisture inside and out.

Depending on their intended use, I'd suggest some 2" x 1".

2x1" planed will suffice for most purposes

The timber you get in your flat pack roofs is also good and has already been sanded down my photo above is that said timber.

I like the look of the ekes/crown boards/feeder boards that Abelo sell and that Laurence at BMH has made and demonstrated. Were I in any way practical I'd be making them. A veritable Swiss Army knife piece of kit.

I find it handy to have ekes of a few different sizes. This is the jig I use for making ekes and assembling flat-pack boxes

Tile batten is cheaper if you don't mind the fact its treated.

You might get a shock when the current escalated timber prices work their way through to the market fully .... 2.4mtr CLS studwork now nudging £6 a length and increasing prices daily ...
