Hello,

Mine are into their third season and the poly runners are looking a little tired. Has anyone trimmed them off and replaced with metal?

When I first bought a Maisey poly hive, I tried metal runners in the slots provided behind the poly runners and it raises the frames a fraction higher. No need to nail or screw in place.

Thanks. Going to have a go soon.

I actually had a chat with Jonathan at Maisemore about this a good while ago, I asked why they don't provide runners like Paynes, he said that he didn't even know that they fitted so we put a couple in.
they do raise the frames up but just about fit, I use them in mine.
