Lorry crash spills 14 million bees

i imagine its about liability. a dead bee cant sting a bystander. makes the clean up easier. i would have thought they could suit up and easily save at least 3/4 of the hives easily.

still a comercial venture is a very different thing from a hobby.

I'd like to know the reason the Bees have to be killed!

Because they are insured and it is easier to pile them up and destroy the load then to try and put it all back together.
