New Bee
I didn't take any honey off this year and thought I would leave it on for them to feed over winter. Is this a good idea? And do I need to move the super down to under the brood box? Many thanks for any advice
not if it's full and sealed - just remember to take the queen excluder off - especially where you are, or be prepared to lose the who;e colony to starvationdo I need to move the super down to under the brood box?
Thank youLeaving honey is an excellent idea (unless you are dependent on it for your income, because yes, sugar is much cheaper ). It's why the bees stored it in the first place. But as JBM has said, no need to move it, they put it there for a reason.
