Hi all,
We are holding a selection day on the 27th April at the BBKA HQ in Stoneleigh for under 16's wanting to take part in the 2013 International Meeting of Young Beekeepers which is being held in northern Germany at the end of June.

This is open to any English resident beekeepers under 16 on the 1st Jan 2013 with a BBKA Basic Assessment or equivalent. During the day we will hold a series of short sessions and assessments so that we can select our team of three plus reserves. The Scottish, Welsh and Irish BKA's are organising their own teams.

All travel expenses for team members to and from Germany and the event itself will be covered by the BBKA. Last years event was a great success and the English team came 6th out of 16 other countries in the various competitions covering honey tasting, basic botany, bee anatomy and handling techniques.

It's a great experience to meet fellow young beek's from around 30 other countries around the world, exchange experiences and have fun.

Please contact me for more information as we need to register you in advance.

Also well done simon for organising the english team.

No one on our comittee was prepared to have enhanced CRBE check so we are over 18 only unless accompanied by parent/responsible adult

A real shame

No one on our committee was prepared to have enhanced CRBE check

what an effing joke that it's required!

the Social structure of this country (which made us great) is in rapid decline!

Would you as a Parent allow your child to go on a trip when it was run by someone who wasnt CRB checked? There are lots that wouldnt.

Now its done online its very easy and less than £30 unless you need an enhanced one which is £44.

You don't understand what I mean, do you?

Once upon a time everyone within a community knew each other.....
