Seems that the LASI hygienic queens have got EFB.
Not sure what that says about them or their bees!

Reading the link it looks like they are no longer in production due to this. Anyone trying is better than nobody is my thoughts, and nobody wants efb around

That is really bad "luck". The stock had EFB sensitive genes.
They did not even tested even that easy disease. What are their methods to test other features. Seems to be hurry to get money.

Normally you get ridd of EFB by changing the queen, and in bad cases the genepool of the yard. Just like in chalkbrood.

Mine from June last year has sat comfortably on 8 frames of 14x12 brood since mid April with 1 1/2 supers filled so far
No sign of swarming or supercedure, pretty much bang average all round including varroa drop, no idea if they are more hygenic than any of my other mongrels
