Langstroth frames

There seem to be a range of Langstroth frame sizes depending on country of origin. Could anyone using Langstroth frames in the UK let me have the internal side bar to side bar dimension of a wooden Langstroth frame and the external dimension ie from the outer side bar to outer side bar of a frame. In millimetres please. The depth is not important. Hope this makes sense!

Another question. How many beekeepers running Commercial brood boxes to take advantage of the increased brood box size but use British National supers rather than Commercial supers.

Get one frame and the measures from it.

Thinking about it but not sure if the demand out there in the UK would be worth the effort of re-jigging. Also looks as if Langstroth frames are a less consistent standard size than Nationals which concerns me in terms of puncturing the cappings well enough. Watch this space....................

Bear in mind that a lot of Lang frames supplied in the UK will have been made for European boxes and will quite likely have unique dimensions.

For example, Modern Beekeeping (UK importers of Finnish Honey Paw) list Lang dimensions that differ from those on the DC A-Z list.

For example, Modern Beekeeping (UK importers of Finnish Honey Paw) list Lang dimensions that differ from those on the DC A-Z list.

It depends what boxes you have. Frames must fit to boxes and to nothing else.
In Finland we use American Langstroth standards.
