I vape all my hives ( currently about 14) and nucs, using adapted ekes. Easy and flexible. Cheap too. I do ring the changes ( think of possible resistance, although unlikely with OA) and use thymol after my last harvest. No problems with burnt hives or bees. My vale cost about £30 and is still OK after 3 seasons. The battery was scrounged from my local garage ( cost two jars of honey) and it too is going strong. It does take some time while the OA is cooking, but I prepare the next hive in that time.
OAV makes sense for those who have a small number of hives to treat ( most hobbyists)
