It's amazing how many people see a picture and think that, because it's on the internet, it's free!

Maybe some of you Saints can dig in your pockets and donate to the forum thus covering any future events and help maintain the forum you all have so much to say on, but contribute nothing towards.

Errm, the point was made about using photographs without making the effort to at least credit the photographer and backlink to their site.

What's that got to do with the way this forum is run, and how it is financed?

And good luck with your hand painted lamp shades to... can't we take you at your word?

No, you can't! Never trust people who keep bees in lampshades, hand-painted or otherwise. They're weird folk.

This comment wasn't directed at you, but if you have a problem with it please let me know. I've just clean out one of the chicken sheds this evening and happy to deal with more....

You quoted the three of us:

"Maybe some of you Saints can dig in your pockets and donate to the forum thus covering any future events and help maintain the forum you all have so much to say on, but contribute nothing towards."

My god, you hit the nail on the head. I've never been able to back down from anything in life, your life experiences make you what you are, don't you think?
If you want to her doom and gloom, death and disaster, you came to the right person to tell you about it...
Have you ever lost all your friends during a hurricane, have you ever been held up at gun point and then have to force the gun on that person and shot them instead? Have you ever been stranded on an unmarked reef on a sinking boat in the middle of an ocean hundreds of miles from land. Have you ever been shot and then knifed in the stomach? Unfortunately I have, I've lived out in the real world and that why I find all the petty s..t so funny...

Is that all, you've had it easy.

Chris

My point was that some people are quick to come onto the forum and accuse people of doing something without even asking for the facts. Should anyone have asked me, I would have told them it was a royalty free photo and I just happened to notice that non of these people have contributed financially to the forum. But that's your choice and I'm sure you all have your reasons, non of which I need to know.

I made a general comment about the use of images that are published online, you have chosen to take it personally and have chosen to escalate things by raising matters that are irrelevant to that particular issue.

However, if you check most "royalty free" sites you'll find that they would prefer accreditation and backlinks. For example :http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/tips/freeimages.htm
Most of the links below allow you to use the images on your web page, in a video presentation or in printed form. If you do use an image in a project then it would be nice for you to contact the original owner of the image and let them know how you are using it.

Ah hem, so far, only just over a year into beekeeping I have only been stung when I have squeezed or actually sat on and squashed one of the poor harrassed things. They have been terribly upset since I raided the larder though and thought I was coming back for the babies today when I had a close look in the nursery.

Wait until you open up before a storm or when they queenless...

But most stings I get are from squashing bees.

Where do we look to see who has paid?

...and does it say how much?

Chris

I'm just interested where to look as it seems Bee-Key-Pur was able to easily access this information.

Chris

Agreed.

I think this thread is heading into areas that have no place in either the verbage or the ethos of this forum. May I suggest that a halt is called and the whole thing be brought to a conclusion .... enough ... everybody !
