Funny Enrico , i think the ivy honey's going in the bin you've all put me of it for life now, I can't look at the frames the same way.
No wonder the bee's struggle to consume it.

Save them in the freezer to make up nucs with in the spring. No problems with ivy in the spring as they can easily forage for water then.

What utter nonsense, they'll have plenty of water in the winter as well, no need for all this waste of energy freezing the stuff down - do the bees have freezers?

Calm down its not as if your paying the leccy bill .
I plan to use them for feeding back to the bee's , using the frames for nucs or giving them to the hives instead of syrup in the spring .

I melted two supers of ivy frames from last year ,some people go crazy for it

No - it's the whole of humanity, due to the profligate unneeded waste of energy
If the honey is rock solid, why on earth does it need freezing? and why feed the bees syrup at all if you have stores that you could just have left on for the winter?

I've not pinched winter stores just removing stores and extra space they don't need.

My Persian Ivy is bursting with flowers and getting some attention.

When you say Persian does it have very big leaves and variegated Steve ?
There's some in one of the gardens I'm landscaping.
The flowers are huge compared to normal ivy.
That's a lovely looking dark bee by the way

Your description is spot on. It's been flowering for a few years now, the florets are the size of table tennis balls.

It flowers a bit later than normal ivy . And keeps looking good all winter when there's not much else .
