We were hoping to come over for a few days later in the week, however have just found out the cost of the ferry so will stick to mainland unfortunately! because we use are van and have it kitted out basic for us to sleep in apparently we have to pay frieght rate even when a full camper conversion travels cheeper:boxing_smiley: ho hum, One day maybe

yes those ferry's do our heads in.If you are willing to travel late at night ,it can work out really cheap. For example we are going by wightlink from yarmouth and it would of cost us over £100. for a 7 night trip away. But by traveling from Yarmouth at 4.30am it's only £46.00 :D
Works out good for us as well.

Who can afford Festival tickets? Wow!
Last year I had to travel at the same time as they were returning home,
Most of them Daddy's little princesses with hooray henry boyfriends. Us locals were definitely outclassed
:(:(:angelsad2:

A bit late for this time - but we have recently started visiting the Isle of Wight as our son has moved there. We use a Transit Connect van with a roof-top tent, and I have booked it on-line as a 'campervan' twice - once with Red Funnel and once with Wightlink. It seemed worth a try - was expected to be asked to cough up the difference - but neither of them even seemed to notice when we drove in and handed in the tickets! (And a campervan is the same price as a car - a 'van' is about three times as much!)
