Inspection in hot weather

Between 12 and 3 ish...foragers will mostly be out, so the hive will be quieter...Hopefully :)

That may be but I inspected 4 hives from 18:00 till 20:00 last night and had no problems, all still very active foraging in the hot weather!

Personally I prefer inspecting later in this weather as otherwise I torture myself in the beesuit!
 
Since the weathers turned hot mine have turned pretty cranky with the odd one following me everywhere with intent up to 80yds or so

I've found in hot weather using a water spray instead of smoke has created far less stress and aggro, plus the odd spray in my own face to cool down helps .....
 
Whats the best time of day to inspect hives?

Not between 3 and 4 in Brynmair - more than a tad tetchy today - had to stand around in my bee suit for 10 minutes before it was safe to take the veil down!
