Has any one here had good of bad experience of importing from China?

Not personally but...

If you look at the alibaba site I think you will find they are really looking for container loads per order.

Good luck

I bought two full National hives with frames and foundation three years ago from a company called Easipet, i am not 100% but i suspect they came from china judging by how cheap they where, upto now they are still spot on however one of the supers is warped a little bit but nothing too bad that the bees can not fix with propolis , all the frames and foundation are also ok, saying all that even though they are usable the quality is nowhere near as good as T's from Rand.

I have bought items like a hydrometer, digital scales, photo magnifyer, ...all delivered on time and no quality issues.

Yeah....you sometimes have to look it up on google to find out how to operate some of the technical items. On the whole I have been pleased with what I have ordered...always a polite message about when the delivery will come.

I have imported from many countries, trying different things out. Why wouldn't I?

There is almost always a video of someone explaining how to use things though.

Why the Hell would you?

yes, price mostly. I arranged for a substantial order of equipment for work from China, the quality may not have been quite as good as I could source in the UK but the cost difference was astronomical!
it's not something that sits comfortably with them being such a massive global polluter but its bottom line that counts at the end of the day.
also, a bit off topic but your comment made me think of those pictures of Trumps campaign promo items such as the caps which clearly said made in China on them :laughing-smiley-004

Yes, I understand about affordability and price. But it should also be about keeping jobs in Britain. Shouldn't it?

Don't get me going about The Donald. Make America Great Again, fix all the Bad Deals with China, but buy all the steel for your palaces from the Chinese. Go figure!

As luck would have it, I have just got a load of second from the UK :) very happy too.

Remember the honey scam of 2006 when a couple from my local town, Bury St Edmunds, were heavily fined for selling Chinese honey labelled as Norfolk? Well, they kept a small apiary of very dilapidated hives about 1km from mine in this parish. I could never find out who the beekeeper was but I took the bee inspector there. Today the landowner told me he had been asked by the accused couple, at the time of the trial, for a letter for the court to confirm that they, the accused, had an apiary locally. There's no way this pitiful apiary could have produced the 17.7 tonnes of honey retailed!
I plan to move two hives to this site next week - adjacent to c. 30 acres OSR.

Have a look for the Land Wind on the t'internet. Wouldn't mind importing one of those

Yes, really. I was aware of the hives since I moved into the parish in 2001 and wondered who they belonged to. Nobody else in the village knew. Nor did I know the landowner - the farm is part of a huge conglomerate of agri-business. So when I read about the court case in c.2005/6 I did not know the culprits were the owners of the hives.
It was not until today that I found out the truth - I recently found and contacted the land owner so as to ask permission to place my two hives and he told me the story! Mystery of the hives (since removed) solved.
