As ordering starts at 12noon where is the list? Do you have to accept cookies to see it?

I think the 'list' goes live when the sale starts

Yes.
No possibility of ordering before the starting gun.
However, previously I seem to think that they posted the email info listing on the website before opening the 'shop'. .

But its important to note that they are trying to run things differently (Saturday midday obviously) to try and avoid the website problems of last year when everyone piled in at the opening and the website had big problems coping. Even though it kept shutting you out, re-logging-in reconnected you with your shopping basket in progress. You just had to be persistent! (And decisive!)

Our Winter Sale will start online at noon on Saturday 4th January 2014 when full details will be on our website http://www.thorne.co.uk/winter-sale Telephone sale orders can be made from 9.00am on Monday 6th January. Last year, our website crashed with all the additional traffic. We have made every effort to ensure this doesn't happen again.
Orders over £100.00 will be sent carriage free within the UK, except the Channel Islands.
Sale ends 5.00pm Friday 31st January 2014.
We will get the orders out as soon as we can but please be patient. In previous years, we've had three weeks work for the despatch department in the first day of the sale!

Shown below is a list of the main items. There are also quite a number of "bits and pieces" with very limited quantities.

guess what. midday and its crashed hahaha

1201 - crashed!

Though I did see the spurious "collection from Rand" header ...

I saw a heading this stuff can only be collected at rand??

looks like 100s of people just tried to log on and down it went, ahwell sale is on for a few weeks lol

Show off, I managed just 5 packs of SN1 frames. then went to order commercial and it crashed again.

When I logged on before the sale started it still had my last order in my basket should have just added to that, instead of clearing it lol.

Should have invested in a better web server!

Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk

Got there - 45 minutes total for a dozen or so product lines.

It'd be 'nicer' if the server could just slow down rather than give up. As it is, its all or nothing!

Whether you order now or a few days later I'm sure your order will be fulfilled.
As most are ordering boxes and frames if stock is depleted then more will be made.

Delivery might be a few weeks though.

We don't think it's funny.

We have invested heavily in technology. As we all know, it's great when it works.

Problem seems to be that the huge surge at noon caused the site to crash and suddenly an old message about our Rand Sale appeared.

We're working on it and the site should be OK - as long as you nice beekeepers form an orderly queue!

:sorry:

:ohthedrama: :thanks: for letting us know so quickly.

hope you are going to beat the company that gives you the service.

were all the products that you wanted in the sale on there when you looked after it crashed?

Well done in trying to keep ontop of it for us people who have money burning holes in their pockets.

Seems to be working well now Gill. the rand thing has gone to.

:sorry:

Gill, its a nuisance, but it shows just how popular the sale is!

As long as the thing looks after what has gone into the basket, the need to try a few (or more) times to access a page is all part of the fun. (Or what passes for fun with bargain-hunting beeks...)

The only real problem might be with those odd items where there may not be more than the odd one or two items.
The pressure to discover them is what must lead to the opening-time-rush.

Beekeepers, bargains, orderly queue? :icon_204-2:

20 minutes.
Not bad, crashed a couple of times so alternated with looking here and returning to Thorn
Spent too much.....sigh
