Just wondering as some one has recommended steaming rather than torching.

Polly hives get dipped in a steralising fluid... would like to use gamma radiation, but can not as yet afford the plant!

Best thing to do with a wood hive is to torch it

I torch my stuff if I do a change over.

Some might say it's a bit over the top but I scrub them with a solution of washing soda and bleach, rinse in cold water then when dry torch.

That's a bit over the top.

10 mins in liquid paraffin wax kills most things and preserves the boxes.

Is Hinkley Point or Winfirth too far, might still be some water butts there but then again your hives might glow in the dark!

I have neighbours that could do that for me... getting the hive in past the guards might be a problem :)
