How to clean extraction equipment?

Wouldn't call it disgusting, not really different from putting wet frames back on for the bees to clean up other than it’s only accessible by an individual hive. Not my personal practice, and I do wash down all equipment before and after use. Although my mother in law will leave burnt pans outside for a few days to aid cleaning!! Don't practice that one either.
 
Leaving equipment outside for the bees to clean is disgusting. May I suggest you go to BeeBase and read the Healthy Bee Plan 7th quarterly newsletter...and note the final section!

Just to finish this off, I used the hose pipe method to clean the extractor, couldn't get over how easily the honey came off, especialy after all the scrubbing I did on all the other equipment. Also fairly disgusted with myself due to the amount of honey I washed out of the extractor, it didn't look much when it was in there, but end up with a fairly big pond of honey on the lawn.
